Quantropi is scaling up our engineering, product, and operations teams as we prepare to launch our proprietary solutions to market. We are seeking an experienced Operations Lead to join us on this revolutionary and pioneering journey.

About the Role

As our Operations Lead, you will be responsible for the configuration, deployment, maintenance and reliable operation of our Software as a Service (SaaS) platform QiSpace™.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working directly with Product Engineering, QA, and Security to implement operations-specific standards and modifications integrated into our DevSecOps lifecycle
    • Reviewing current and ongoing agile methods and tools to ensure state-of-the-market practices and procedures are being followed at Quantopi across all stages of Dev/Test/Ops
  • The design and buildout of Production infrastructure for QiSpace™ Entropy Distribution Services (“EDS”) hardware and software, including physical and virtual environments
  • The specification, development, and testing of deployment methods to support Continuous Delivery for EDS, Key Distribution Services (“KDS”) and our Quantum Entropy Expansion and Propagation (QEEP™) Software Development Kit (SDK)
    • Identifying areas where we can automate routine tool deployments, administration, and monitoring tasks
    • Working with our Engineering, Marketing and QA groups to continuously update deployment documentation as processes improve and change
  • Defining and implementing Data Centre / Cloud hosting capability
    • Working with Co-location and Public cloud service providers to securely deploy and operate the QiSpace™ platform
  • The design, implementation and management of infrastructure monitoring, reporting, and incident management
    • Leading systems support efforts for QiSpace™, ensuring that all issues and problems are resolved in a timely manner and with limited disruptions
    • Running diagnostics, detailing problems and resolutions, prioritizing issues and assessing the impact of issues
    • Creating initiatives to improve the overall stability of our products
  • Defining, developing, and managing systems security monitoring for the Quantropi platform, along with incident management, response, and reporting
    • Identifying, installing and configuring tooling required to monitor, analyze and report on the security status of the Quantropi platform
    • Using data to define and develop metrics to tell the security incident response story
    • Organizing and running regular game day and crisis scenario exercises
    • Leading critical incident response and mitigation efforts
    • Working with external security audits / penetration testers to execute 3rd party analysis and review and present action items as a prioritized list to product teams
  • The definition and monitoring of Platform QoS and uptime/availability
    • Investigating and perfecting SaaS system performance; using your experience to find the root cause of defects and working to proactively address them
  • Defining, developing, and testing for system resiliency and disaster recovery
  • Participating in an on-call support rotation


  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in Cloud and SaaS system administration and deployments
  • College Certificate or Diploma, or Associate / Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience with SaaS platforms, scripting, and automation tools
  • Solid grasp of CRM tools, ticketing systems, user management, and large SaaS system deployments
  • Analytical and strong organization skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven leadership skills, allowing you to develop and mentor others, as well as build credibility with the Quantropi team while executing broader security strategies
  • Experience as a lead technical responder, or participating in incident response in a cloud-based environment, leveraging strong analytical and data literacy skills to find the needle in the haystack
  • Demonstrated proficiency in building and operating security incident response and security operations programs in a technical environment

  • Core technologies such as
    • Docker Containers
    • Linux OS (Server)
    • Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android (client)
    • C, Python, NodeJS
    • Public Cloud: AWS, Azure, Google, IBM
    • Data Center Co-location environments
    • Internet infrastructure (e.g., Routers, Firewalls, Load Balancers, etc.)
    • Active Directory
    • Key Management and HSM (Hardware Security Module)
    • Cryptographic standards and implementations (RSA, AES, ECC, etc.)
  • Working with large datasets to gather insights and validate assumptions
    • Implementation / use of log analysis tools such as Splunk, etc.
